Perisher X Country welcomes you to the APRIL WORK PARTY REMINDER & OTHER MATTERS edition of PXC NEWS. This newsletter is focused on what is happening within PXC, with special reference to the volunteers and to those who have a keen interest in helping grow the sport of cross country skiing.

Perisher X Country (PXC) is all about promoting the activity of Cross Country Skiing to a wider audience so that one of the best-kept secrets around is not a secret anymore. Please encourage everyone to go to the PXC website (Contact Us page) and subscribe to PXC NEWS.

And the Work Goes On! - April 6-7, XC Work Party at Perisher

So much work on the inner trails was completed at the XC March Work Party that, this time, folk will be heading out to the Porcupine and Wheatley tracks to make sure poles are in place and do some targeted summer grooming.

Painting, cleaning and landscaping around the Shelter were all attacked in March and will continue this time around.

Bring food and drink, sturdy work boots, gloves, clothing for all conditions and be prepared for flies.

Accommodation will be provided by Canberra Alpine lodge. If you require accommodation, please contact Peter Cunningham - peter.petercunningham@gmail.com. Bring bedding, towels, food and drink.

The Other Matters:

2019 Perisher XC Ski Week - August 3-11. Make your accommodation bookings now. Details of events and activities will start to appear on the PXC website (www.perisherxcountry.org) in April. Check in from time to time for information.

PXC AGM/Workshop - Sunday April 28. If you would like to attend or simply assist with particular projects, contact Wayne Pethybridge via "reply" to this newletter for more information.

Do you have or know of a spare vehicle? - The NSWXC Winter Program in Perisher needs to rent or borrow a vehicle (preferably 4WD) for the winter, to be mostly used for XC coaches transport between Jindabyne and the Ski Tube. We know this is quite an ask, but, amazingly, we have been able to find such a vehicle for many years now. If you know of a possible "loaner", please contact Peter Ward (nswxc1@gmail.com).
