Starting this Weekend - XC Ski Week,

XC SKI WEEK is with us again, and we have no choice but to make the most of what we have no matter what the weather/ snow gods service up to us. This is not a new thing where at the beginning of the week, the amount of snow has been problematic, where sufficient snow did come in the first weekend. Approximately 10 years ago a huge amount of shoveling was done on the Friday, from where in the next day there was good snow falls. The shoveled work was important as the new snow then fell on snow and not running water and we progressed on to have a great week.

Can you spare some time on this coming Friday and/or Saturday?

With the warm days we are keeping a close eye on the condition of the trails. If no significant snows do come, we might be using the Perisher XC Centre trail system for all the races. With this in mind it may be required to have a team of shovelers out there on this coming Friday and/or Saturday, to patch up the trails, where needed. If you believe that you can lend a hand, please call Peter Cunningham on 0477 356 835. Peter will decide if these works are required and to what extent. At the moment the weather is not looking too kind but need to assess at the time.

The following is a quick summary of all the planned events, except for the KAC Classic, where we have a lot more information.

Regards Wayne P

As a previous participant in the KAC XC Classic we thought we’d drop you an email to let you know the 2023 KAC is open for registrations.

As has been tradition in years gone past, the 2023 KAC still encourages entrants to enjoy the race on many different levels – ski hard and competitively if you’re of Olympic, World, Masters, or Nationals standard, or just join the fun of a casual race in a beautiful part of the world.  The KAC is open to both Classic (diagonal stride) or Freestyle (skating) skiers, with the Classic racers starting first. Both styles ski the same course.

Celebrate with us after the race at the Kosciuszko Chalet, Charlotte Pass.  Catch up with friends over a drink, Gluhwein, and some hot food, and maybe even collect a prize.

For more information about the race please follow this link to the KAC website: Click here for more information on THE KAC 2023

Transport is available to and from Charlotte Pass for those who prefer not to ski back to Perisher and for those who travel with a non-skiing cheer squad – please book oversnow transport with Charlotte Pass Ski Resort: Book your Oversnow
